Aurangzeb was the third son of Emperor Mughal Shah Jahan and his dearest wife Mumtaz Mahal. Aurangzeb Alamgir is the second leader who last longer in their kingdom, as he reigned about 50 years on Indian subcontinent. West philosopher blames Aurangzeb Alamgir for his cruelty with Hindus and imposition of taxes on the nation. But the truth is that he had no grudges for Hindus and he also placed them on different high posts. To justify the second blame here, he had imposed taxes according to Islamic rules and cancelled the other 80 unnecessary taxes. Alamgir was a greatest leader and he spent his life according to Islam in a simple way. Alamgir always devoted his life for the welfare of people and he had not utilized any sources of Govt. For his personal expenses, he had stitched the caps and written Quran Sharif. Alamgir restricted all the activities that were against the Islamic teachings like Music, wine. Aurangzeb followed the Naqshbandi Mujaddi method of suffism. In his reign, he has done several works as establishment of Islamic law, expansion of the Mughal Empire, foreign relation and revenue administration that created the base of new Islamic society. During his reign, he was engaged in 20 different rebellions around the Mughal Empire like Deccan wars, Ahom campaign, Satnami, Battle of saraighatt ant The Pashtun rebellion. Alamghir died in Ahmadnagar on Friday 20 February 1707 at the age of 88 and after his death, the Mughal Empire began to fall and many had little power beyond the walls of Delhi.
