Al Kimia Dates considered one of the most nourishing fruit from the ancient time. It is a cylindrical food of reddish brown colour.It has fleshy pericarp surrounding a single seed containing almost 68% sugar. It is available in fresh as well as dried form. Dates are nuggets of nutrition that satisfy a sweet tooth, making them ideal snacks to stave off hunger & weight control.Dates are availale in 2 colours - black and a little dark brown or black in colour.The sticky surface of date attracts dust

Don't store dates near strongly flavored items such as garlic. Dates tend to absorb outside odors.To slice or chop dates, chill them first. The colder they are, the easier they are to slice. They are eaten as it is & also mixed with dry fruits to make sweets( Khajur Pak). It is also used in home-baked breads, cakes, muffins, and cookies. It goes well with fruit compotes, salads, Milkshake and desserts. Most common use of Dates is its chutney for Bhel, Panipuri, Sevpuri etc. mixed with Tamarind.
